It's been a long hard slog raising twin boys and today they reach 4 years old!
We held a party over the weekend and was truly lucky with the weather which meant I could host it in the garden. It was a Super Mario Bros theme and Mr Fashion and The Foley Artist came along as Mario and Luigi - improvised moustaches (painted on with mascara) were rubbed off by the time this photo was taken.

Everyone had a super time and I loved all the party ware I had bought from Party Pieces; especially the picnic hamper food trays which I had loaded up with hot dogs, french fries and fruit shoots. Perfect for little children to carry about whilst they played and ate....boys tend to do that whilst girls like to ACTUALLY SIT DOWN AND SIT STILL TO EAT.

I tried to make some suitably themed foods but only had time to make these edible toadstools (cherry toms sat on mini mozzarella with dots of cream cheese)
Too cute!
Traditional party games were played - Pass the parcel, musical statues, musical bumps and musical chairs. One brave parent offered to hold up the pinata and had 11 kids descend upon him trying to bash the life out of it to release all the goodies inside.

Here are all the boys grabbing at the loot!

So Happy Birthday to my darling, I don't know if I will ever get over the shock of being a mother to twin boys but you are both adorable xx twosp

At Bubbledogs for a bite to eat

Bubbledogs  is a great place to stop off for a quick bite to eat. I came here for a girly lunch a couple of weeks ago and the novelty mix of hot dogs and champagne is what enticed us in. I was a little bit nervous when I realised my dining companions were both vegetarians. But most choices on the menu could be vegetarian as the ‘dogs’ come in pork, beef and vegetarian versions. So their dietary needs were taken care of and they didn’t feel they were missing out. We chatted about how most high street places only offer a meagre uninspired selection for veggies – beetroot/goats cheese, risotto or a mushroom burger.

I went for the Rueben which is smothered in sauerkraut and melted cheese and a side order of ‘Tot’s which look like crispy potato croquettes but the inside has more of a rosti texture.

We got a great little perch at the copper bar overlooking Charlotte Street but Us ladies who lunch had difficulty on what to do with our handbags as there was nowhere really to put them down. I ended up keeping my satchel balanced on my lap.

You can order champagne by the glass which gives you a great opportunity to sample different vintages. Glasses of chilled tap water is automatically placed in front of you – eating processed meat and deep fried sides is thirsty work! The service was pretty speedy and the whole place had a lovely warm jammed packed vibe. The staff were friendly and efficient so if you are ever down there; do pop in before 1pm as the queues do start to form as it seems a really popular venue.

Issa very nice

I haven't posted up for a while any Designer Sample Sales; but like buses there are a few happening at The Music Rooms. If you can hurry today go check out Issa . Some great bargains to be had if you love her printed designs or need something bright for sunnier climes.

Here are my lovely goodies I picked up yesterday

For £30 an adorable triple layered printed capelet - picture is terrible but I took it in a hurry in-between kids bath time.

A double layered silk swishy skirt in off-white £50, it looks like a sample as the inside seams are not overlocked and finished and the waistband needs a hook and eye fastening. but no problem for me as a former fashion student who is handy with a needle.
A close up of the Issa print

and look Curly Haired Beauty also got some things from the Baby Issa range - too cute cotton printed nightie and pyjama set (note the matching hanger). I normally don't buy designer children's wear but these were only £10 each.

For anyone wanting a punt on today's Grand National - my top tip is TEAFORTHREE and SEABASS. Be lucky! xxxx twosp
