RIP Catherine Walker

Its so very sad to hear another fashion designer has passed away this year. Catherine Walker who was battling with cancer, died last week. She will always be to me one of those rare female designers (up there with Donna Karen and Coco Chanel) who knew how to dress women to make them look confident, chic and effortlessly stylish.




Here are a few of her iconic dresses worn by one of her favorite customers Princess Diana. The 'Elvis Bolero' at the time got such tremendous press coverage (more than the Berlin wall coming down) - the idea evolved after  Princess Diana insisted she needed something practical, that would not slip off (like a stole/shawl would), so she could shake hands, hold flowers and provide some coverage (she didn't like revealing her ample bust too much, this was when she was still married to HRH Prince Charles).
