Out and about in London
Living in the burbs and working in Central London I sometimes need a reminder how great this capital city is with so much to offer. Recently I've been out location hunting for a British themed party venue and took in some stunning views along the riverside at Somerset House, Globe theatre, Tate Modern. Its good to take some time out and be a tourist in your own backyard.
The first photo is from the rooftop bar Vista - from up there you can see right across the city centre: can you spot the Shard & the London Eye? The next photo is Nelsons column , St. Martins in the Field church & ENO. St.Paul's cathedral and the Millennium bridge (on windy days I wish they had selected the covered walk way design).
Then as I was killing time in-between appointments at the South Bank centre I wondered into the National Theatre and came across a wonderful photographic exhibition Photo Noir. These beautiful portraits of actors were simple in their execution but very stunning and just oozed glamour and real star quality. They don't make em like they used too!
Yesterday HRH The Queen was in the neighbourhood to officially open the dance studio where Curly Haired Beauty has her classes... her teacher got to speak to her Majesty and we joked with the Receptionist who said her desk was all tided up and the royal bottom got to sit on her chair whilst signing the visitor book! This couldn't happen anywhere else lol.
