Au Naturale

I just luuurve being based in W1 so convenient for little shopping jaunts; I needed to stock up on a few beauty essentials and in less than 25 minutes was able to snap up Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and Skin Repair Light Moisturiser. The cleanser is a firm favorite of mine, I switch beauty brands all the time but this is one I turn to time and time again. It smells amazing and you can really see how much make-up/dirt comes off your face and onto the muslin cloths. The moisturiser is a lighter version of one I had previously used. With warmer weather ahead (I hope) its would help replenish my skin without feeling too weighty and help re-balance my complexion over-night rather than use a heavy night cream.

From Chanel's Summer 2011 collection, I bought Morning Rose 557 Nail varnish. Its a delightful warm rosy pink with gold glitter particles in it. Its perfect for Summer toes. A quick manicure at my desk of 2 coats had left an even coverage but you could get away with one coat for a more sheer finish

I did try the Mimosa (yellow) but frankly it aged my hands dramatically and was not for me! You would need to apply 3 coats to get an opaque colour and frankly who has time to do that?

As John Lewis was having a 10% off day I thought it would be prudent to re-stock on Rouge Coco Lipstick in Paris 22. £19.80 may sound a lot for a little tube of colour but it lasts for ages, gives my face the right pop of colour to make it look finished (as worn wonderfully by Sandra Bullock at the Oscars in 2010. Even with unwashed hair and being casually attired for Friday I had a done and polished looking face. No need for blush, just apply onto lips and you are ready to face the day.

PS a little note to say if you want to see 'me', I will be in the Sunday Telegraph Stella Magazine  in a Beauty Feature. Guess which one I am - yep Mrs Smug (Look how youthful I am - I don't sunbathe, drink or smoke but use a tonne of lotions and potions)
